
Jill Smith Gubler
Jill is a nationally certified piano teacher (NCTM) and has been teaching for 56 years! She is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). She is also active in the Utah Music Teachers Association (UMTA) where she served for two years as president of the Bridgerland Chapter (covering all of Cache Valley, Brigham City and Preston, Idaho) and as the 2013 program chairman. She was publicity chair for the Davis Chapter in 2013-2014 and the historian from 2014-2020. Jill served on the Davis Chapter AIM committee for 4 years and was on the State Board of the UMTA, serving as the Social Media Chair Person for 2 years. Jill is a member of the NFMC (National Federation of Music Clubs).
She has been a popular judge at the Northern Cache Valley Performing Arts Festival held in Preston, Idaho, as well as a Federation judge locally. She has served as Performance Evaluation Chairman and an AIM (Achievement in Music) judge. Jill has been a presenter at other chapters throughout the state (e.g. presenting creative and fun ideas for piano studios, etc).
Jill grew up in American Fork, Utah where she began teaching as a teenager. She taught lessons in American Fork (7 years), Provo (2 years), Bountiful (25 years), Loa (2 years), Cache Valley (10 years), Farmington (10 years) and is now back in Bountiful. Jill has a BS degree in Early Childhood Education from Brigham Young University with a music minor. She taught her own preschool for 8 years and also taught Kindermusik for several years as a Bountiful resident. She is a certified Mayron Cole teacher as well.

Jill feels that it is extremely important as teachers that we share what we have learned and keep current on the latest innovations in music. Teachers need to stay abreast of the latest improvements in technology, theory, technique, history, and so on. She is always trying to be the best teacher that she can be.
